Haslett Invitational Results

Parma Invitational – JV

Scoring 20 points, the JV team placed second, behind host Parma Western (26), in a quad invitational on Tuesday, Aug. 21. Rounding out the field were Coldwater (18) and Jackson (16). Winning their flights were E. J. VanAllsburg and Scott Bennett at first doubles and Ryan McGuire at first singles. Additional points were scored by singles players Dan Shuck and Billy Schlenke, and doubles teams Eric Lopez and Sam Bayerl, and Scott Evans and Benno Pueppke.

First serve tournament

Come play doubles tennis with the finest tennis players in Williamston! All abilities welcome – each team consists of one youth and one adult. The First Serve Tournament will take place on September 9 (rain date is September 16) at 2:00 pm at the WHS tennis courts. Register with any tennis player or Coach Stanley. Share the First Serve Tournament Flyer with your friends! This tournament is a fundraiser for the WHS tennis programs. Entry fee: $50 per team.

Northern Invitational

The WHS Boy’s Tennis team played well in Petosky on Saturday.  The team finished second behind Division I Brighton and ahead of two teams that went to the state finals last year, Elk Rapids and Harbor Springs.  Brighton had 22 points,  Williamston 12, Elk Rapids 9 and Harbor Springs 4.  Andrew Hall and Curtis Sawdon won the title at number two doubles.  Finishing in second place were Bret Graham at number two singles, Bryan Kendall and Patrick Belanger at number one doubles, Zach Frenzel and Nathan Fedewa at number two doubles and Robert Gillespie and Brian Sanborn at number four doubles. Congratulations to a great start to the season!
