Williamston wins 4th consecutive regional!

The Lady Hornets won their fourth consecutive regional title with 26 points. They qualified for the state finals to be held in Jenison on May 29 and 30. However, the regional is not yet completed as one match remains to be played on Saturday, Leslie v. Alma in four singles. At this point, Lansing Catholic and Leslie are tied for second with 15 points each. Should Leslie’s four singles defeat Alma, Leslie will go to the state finals as the second place team with 16 points. Should Leslie lose, both Leslie and Lansing Catholic will go to states as they will be tied for second with 15 points.

Portland was third with 14 points, Chesaning had 13; Alma 9. Lansing Christian was in 7th place with 4 points and Durand, Ithaca, and Ovid-Elsie tied for 8th place with 2 points each.

Winning Regional championships for the Hornets were Tiffany Ash (4 points) at one singles, Claire Cooper (4 points) at two singles, Anya Nikolai and Mattie Nelson (4 points) at one doubles, Erin Donovan and Audrey Porter (4 points) at two doubles, Erin Graham and Aubree Barton (4 points) at three doubles and Cara Steinberg and Leah Vargovich (4 points) at four doubles. Gabby Meijer scored two points for the Hornets at three singles.
